Monday 02 March - Gillyflower Farm Planning Application - The Council's previous minutes advise that the Town Council intended to dedicate Tuesday's meeting to consideration of this planning application. This is no longer the case as the applicant has further planning documents to submit to Cornwall Council's Planning Department. The Planning Officer has agreed to grant the Town Council an extension for submission of the Town Council's response. A fixed end date will be applied to this extension as soon as the Planning Officer has received all the documents anticipated.

Please find proposed pedestrian viewing areas for Lostwithiel residents that wish to see some of the works. The main works will be happening over the following weekends - 13th - 14th March 2021 - Removal of the old upside bridge deck. 20th - 21st March 2021 - Installation of the new bridge decks. Current government guidelines regarding COVID need to be followed at all times. There will be one viewing area in Quay Street and one in Coulson Park, barriers/ fencing will be erected to protect residents from the work.

Lostwithiel Library Reopening

We are pleased to announce that we are reopening the Library doors for browsing and borrowing on Wednesday 22 September 2021. We will be open for a 2-hour slot from 12.30 – 14.30 every Wednesday. We currently recommend that Library building users wear a face mask, use hand sanitiser and observe social distancing. We will still run the weekly (Wednesdays 12.30 -14.30) click and collect service in the Courtyard for pre-ordered book collections. Thank you for your understanding regarding the delay in our reopening, we hope to get our volunteer led library back up and running soon.

Thank you to all residents who have taken the time to contact us about the beech tree on the Parade. Prior to instructing the felling the Council obtained a professional report on the condition of the tree (please see attached). Text removed regarding other trees. The tree will be felled on Friday 01 October and would be very grateful if as previously requested all parked cars could be removed from the area. The Council will be taking further professional advice on the future management of the Parade Trees including advice on suitable locations for replanting.

Based on community feedback due to the current Covid figures in Lostwithiel there will be some modifications to the arrangements for Sunday. The Parade will assemble in Fore Street and will march to the War Memorial as planned, however the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial will be slightly extended to include extra prayers and a hymn (for those wishing to pay their respects in an outdoor setting). Revd Beynon will announce that there will be a Sunday Service in the Church for those that wish to attend but the Parade will not reform and march around to the entrance to the Church.

Second Island

On the advice of our tree inspector, due to Health & Safety, we have this afternoon closed off the Restormel Road entrance to Second Island Park. The veteran beech tree has a hanging branch and we have asked our contractor to remove this as soon as possible so we can reopen the path.
